802.1D MAC Bridges

This revision of Std. 802.1D-1998 will:

• Change the title of the standard to its original form prior to the publication of the 1998 edition as an ISO/IEC standard.
• Incorporate the technical and editorial corrections, including those currently documented under P802.1y.
• Incorporate existing published amendments 802.1t and 802.1w
• Remove the Spanning Tree Protocol defined in Clause 8.
• Remove references to withdrawn MAC types (.4, .6, .9 and .12)
