February 2008:
- The What's New page is retired.
28 January 2008:
- The Congestion Management Task Group has changed its name to the Data Center Bridging Task Group.
18 October 2006:
- The web pages have been converted to XHTML-1.0 Transitional and validated (see the link at the bottom of each page).
This paves the way for further website automation using DOM.
- The basic page layout used to rely on a table with a thin column of whitespace to indent the page. This has been
removed and indentation is now done using a stylesheet entry. As the background image has also been moved to the
stylesheet, I'm hoping that a browser's inability to understand one will eliminate its need for the other. Please
report any browser difficulties with the site.
- Because the pace of uploads has become so large, much of the updating of the website has been automated over the
last year, using scripts written in very amateur perl by yours truly. The scripts look for uploaded drafts and
presentations and write web page entries and RSS items for them. The website runs on a server which offers no
dynamic content, so the original SHTML files are converted into HTML by "Neil's web site generator".
20 September 2005:
- The Link Security page has been retired, still accessible via a "historical" link on the main 802.1 page.
The Link Security task group is now called the Security task group.
1 October 2004:
- Things you (maybe) didn't know about the 802.1 website #1: You can click on the "Current status"
title on each project's web page to see the corresponding entry in the IEEE Standards database.
This gives the date the project was approved at various stages.
- #2: You can click on the "Archive" title on each project's web page to go directly to the
draft directory.
