[STDS-802-16] status of P802.16Rev2 and P802.16j RevCom applications

On 18 March, RevCom considered our approval applications of P802.16Rev2 and P802.16j. Unfortunately, neither was approved. P802.16Rev2 was disapproved because the Purpose statement on the draft included an extra sentence not on the Purpose statement of the PAR. P802.16j was deferred because it is to be an amendment to the revision standard. The notifications from RevCom are at <http://ieee802.org/16/docs/#09_0028> and <http://ieee802.org/16/docs/#09_0029>.

Here is what's going on with these two drafts:

(1) I've created P802.16Rev2/D9a. This is identical to D9 except for the "Purpose" statement. I created D9a by editing the PDF of D9, so the pay layout is unchanged..

(2) I've opened a recirc on P802.16Rev2/D9a today. It runs through 4 April. The cover letter is at at <http://ieee802.org/16/docs/#09_0026>

(3) P802.16j/D9 is also in recirc through 4 April. The draft (D9) is identical to that of the previous recirc, but the underlying base standard is Rev2/D9a instead of Rev2/D9. The cover letter is at at <http://ieee802.org/16/docs/#09_0027>

(4) I resubmitted both drafts back to RevCom. They have been scheduled for the RevCom meeting of May 1.

(5) I've been in touch with IEEE editorial staff regarding the development of the documents for publication. It appears that they will be ready to publish as soon as they are approved, so perhaps the delay in approval will not result in significant change to the publication dates.
