Re: [STDS-802-16] IEEE 802.16 ITU Liaison Group Correspondence activity towards IMT-Advanced Contribution #3

Brief notes from the teleconference:

Attendees:

Mitsuo Nohara

Sassan Ahmadi

Mark Cudak

Takashi Shono

Nader Zein

On L802.16-09/0050d1:

One member stated he is working on update of sections 4.1 of the document, including clean up and adding references to the draft standard. Also for section 3, he will submit text based on a paper in IEEE Communications Magazine. The updates will be sent before the next teleconference.

Another member stated plans to submit a contribution on section 4.2 but possibly after the deadline of 24th.

One member also reported that WF TWG is working on submitting a contribution addressing some areas in section 4.1.

On L802.16-09/0051d1:

On member stated intent to submit contribution towards section 2.4, technical performance compliance template, on spectral efficiency, mobility requirements, and VoIP. The material, however, will not be ready before the middle of next week. There was also intent expressed in providing material for section 2.2, Services template, towards fulfilling the Editor’s Notes in that section. It was also expressed that other elements of section 2.4 could be fulfilled using material from contributions previously submitted to the Working Group.

On L802.16-09/0052d1:

Questions were asked about the status of IEEE-SA patent policy and similarities with the process of IPR compliance during IMT-2000 inclusion of 802.16 standard in 2007. It is expected that similar process would apply to IMT-Advanced submission.

On member proposed to postpone the next teleconference from 25 August to 27 August to allow for contributions to be shared with the group. The proposal was accepted. Our next teleconference will happen on Thursday, 27 August 2009 at 20:00 US Eastern time (Note: this is one hour earlier than today’s call to accommodate members attending meetings on that day). Dial-in information will be announced in a separate email.

The call adjourned around 22:00 US Eastern time.

Regards,

Reza
