Re: [802.19] FW: TVWS Coexistence

Mike,

I believe the TAG would be open to coexistence mechanisms that would provide coexistence between 802 devices and ECMA devices.  I do not personally have any information on the ECMA devices.

Steve,

Since it is proposed to consider non-802 technologies will the group look at what Ecma is doing?

Regards,

Mike

Mark,
 Steve,

I agree.  We should not limit the work to coexistence among IEEE 802
technologies only.  Consideration of coordinated protection of broadcast
incumbents should be included (e.g., synchronized quiet periods for sensing,
dissemination of sensing results across technologies).  Coexistence with
non-IEEE 802 technologies would also be needed (e.g., DOCSIS type systems).  I
have attached a slide that I used in my 802.22 presentation during the ECSG
tutorial that presents different possible interactions that would need to be
studied.
