Re: [802.19] [WHITESPACE] IEEE Standards Association information on PARs

Matt,

We do not need it immediately but we will need it before September.

Are you interested in writing up a draft 5C?

Steve

Joe, Mark and Ari,

Here is a link to the IEEE Standards Association web site which gives information about PARs,

                http://standards.ieee.org/board/nes/PAR.html

Down towards the bottom of the page there is a link to a presentation on New PARs.  You do not need to worry at this point about the mechanics of submitting a PAR.  Though there is some useful information on what they are looking for.

In my opinion the critical technical field you need to consider are,

2.1          Title

5.2          Scope

5.3          Dependency on other standards

5.4          Purpose

5.5          Need

7.1          Similar standards

8.1          Explanatory notes

If you want to fill in the other fields you can do that too.  It’s up to you.

If you have any material for next week I would recommend we start discussing what you have at that point.

Thanks,
Steve
