Vivian, Shuang, Cathy,

Happy New Year.  The attached press release was approved by the IEEE 802 Executive Committee.  We are ready to send it out.

If you have any small editorial edits that is fine.

Steve

Hello Steve

Attached are the edits to the draft of the IEEE 802.19 Study Group press release. I understand the final version of a press release needs to go through EC approval, but to finalize this we would need to add the "so what' information to the announcement – connecting the dots for the media and less technical audiences about what impact IEEE 802.19 would have on them and why Coexistence in Unlicensed frequency Bands (CUB) is so important. This is something IEEE Corporate will want to see included when it goes to them for review ad approval before distribution.

Do you have time for a content call to further develop this announcement next week or the first week of January? If so, please provide your availability and we'll send out a meeting invite.

Have super weekend.

Many thanks,

Best,

Vivian

Actually, it is very short.  If you can just look it over in the next few days and send me any edits that would be great.

I need to run a ballot on it and want to get your edits before I run the ballot.

Thanks,

Steve

Shuang,

The EC has approved formation of the Study Group (at the November Plenary).  The EC has not approved this press release.  We did not have it ready to go at the November meeting, so we drafted it after the November meeting.

Please make edits to this document and then I will let the EC review it and then vote on it.

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks Steve for sending this.

Just to make sure I get this right -- the EC has not approved the study group yet. The expectation is that the EC will approve the study group early next year? Can you confirm?

Thanks and happy holidays!

Shuang

Kathryn, Shuang and Donna,

We are developing a press release for a new study group, which I would like you to take a look at and see if you have any recommended changes.

Please look it over and make any recommended changes using Track Changes.  Once we have made the edits from you we will run an electronic ballot of the IEEE 802 Executive Committee, after they have a change to look it over.  Once we have approval from the EC we can issue the press release, probably after the New Year.
