[802SEC] FW: IEEE 802.11 Mandatory Technical Letter Ballot 251 for P802.11bd Draft 1.0 and the corresponding Coexistence Assurance Document Starts Today

FYI the initial WG letter ballot on P802.11bd and the corresponding draft CAD is now open and closes on Wednesday November 18th.

IEEE 802.11(TM) Letter Ballot 251:  P802.11bd D1.0 and CAD
 
To: IEEE 802.11 Voters,

With this email, the 802.11 Working Group is officially beginning WG Technical Letter Ballot 251 (LB251), which is a Letter Ballot on forwarding P802.11bd D1.0 to SA ballot and approval of the prepared Coexistence Assurance Document:
"Shall WG11 forward P802.11bd D1.0 to Standards Association (SA) Ballot and approve the Coexistence Assurance Document in 11-20-1564r2?"

The WG motion approving the initial WGLB was approved by unanimous consent in the WG11 September closing plenary meeting, see https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/20/11-20-1372-01-0000-september-2020-working-group-motions.pptx .

The 802 rules regarding CAD document requirements are in section 13 of https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/17/ec-17-0090-24-0PNP-ieee-802-lmsc-operations-manual.pdf .

The motion is consistent with the 802 rules, and enables both timely conduct of the initial ballot on P802.11bd and WG consideration of the prepared CAD document.

 

This Letter Ballot opens Monday October 19, 2020 at 23:59 Eastern Time USA (11:59PM) and will close 30 days later on Wednesday November 18, 2020 at 23:59 Eastern Time USA (11:59pm). All necessary documents are available in the instructions that can be found on the IEEE 802.11 web site at http://www.ieee802.org/11/LetterBallots/LB251bd/LB251_instructions.html.


Important:
o This is a 30-day Technical letter ballot and the ballot group (i.e., those that may vote) for this ballot consists of the voters in the ballot pool.
o Please see the list of voters in this ballot pool at http://www.ieee802.org/11/LetterBallots/LB251bd/LB251_voters_list.xls .
o If you cast a "Do not approve" vote on this ballot, it must be accompanied by comments for your vote to be valid.
o You must follow these instructions to vote. Do not send an email to vote. Voting by any method other than the web-based process described here will invalidate your vote.
o Failure to follow these instructions will result in your vote being discarded as an invalid vote.
o Not voting on a letter ballot series or sending an invalid vote can affect your voting privileges.
o The draft is password protected in accordance with IEEE 802 Policies and Procedures.  To obtain the draft, use the username and the password supplied to active members for the 802.11 WG private area.

The attached file contains a reminder set for 4 days before the close of the ballot.  You may find it helpful to import this into or open this with your calendar client in order to get an automated reminder.
