Contribute to/support the 802.1 activity to complete an Industry Connections Activity Initiation Document (ICAID).  Formation of an IC  has been proposed as the way forward in 802.1  OmniRAN Ad Hoc, to progress the “IEEE “5G” Standard”/IC project.

The draft agenda for the Thursday, 1 December 2016 @ 10:00 am EST call is:

1.       Continue work on the following liaison statements (LSs) to 3GPP:

a.       Reply LS to LS 11-16/1384 from RAN2 on Estimated WLAN Throughput, current working draft in: 11-16/1510r1
(Also see 11-16-1517r0 and comments discussion on the STDS-802-11-AANI email reflector, subject/thread: [STDS-802-11-AANI] 11-16/1151r1 - updated Draft Reply to Liaison from 3GPP RAN2 on Estimated Throughput 11-16-1384.  Note Laurent Cariou has agreed to coordinate this discussion on the e-mail reflector and be the editor for this LS)

b.      “Reply” LS to RAN asking RAN to provide some insight on their status and approach to radio-level integration between 3GPP/NR and 802.11.
(A draft “reply” LS will be provided prior to the teleconference on the STDS-802-11-AANI email server, volunteer(s) to lead this effort are requested, please contact the AANI Chair if you are interested.}

c.       “Reply” LS to SA asking RAN to provide some insight on their status and approach to improve WLAN integration in the 3GPP NextGen System.
(A draft “reply” LS will be provided prior to the teleconference on the STDS-802-11-AANI email server, volunteer(s) to lead this effort are requested, please contact the AANI Chair if you are interested.)

2.       Continue discussion on 802.11 position on 802.1 “Option A”: “IEEE “5G” Specification” activity, related for forming an Industrial Connections (IC) Project

An agenda document with discussion material and links to pertinent documents will be available prior to the teleconference.  Outlook, meeting notices are attached for you convince.  Additional details regarding these teleconferences also posted to the IEEE 802.11 teleconference calendar on the  802.11 web site:  http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/802/11/ and the teleconference can be joined though the link information below.

Applicable Rules

All meetings held as 802.11 or a subgroup of is are bound by the following policies and procedures:

        IEEE Patent Policy

        Patent FAQ

        Letter of Assurance Form

        Affiliation FAQ

        Anti-Trust FAQ

        Ethics

        802 LMSC P&P

        802LMSC OM

802 WG P&P (Except Sponsor BRCs)

IEEE802.11 WG OM (Except Sponsor BRCs)

When a Sponsor Ballot Resolution Committee (BRC) is formed to address comments in a sponsor ballot,  the group is operating under the Sponsor committee (in this case,  IEEE 802/LMSC) rules.  The main impact on this for 802.11's work is that Sponsor BRC meetings may make motions during telecons.

Except as noted above, all 802.11 subgroup meetings are bound by the full set of P&P described about.  802.11 standing committees,  study groups and task groups do not make motions on telecons,  with one additional exception.   The exception is for a task group in the very final stages of working group letter ballot.  Such a task group must have received conditional approval to go to sponsor ballot from the Sponsor.
