Re: [STDS-802-11-AANI] WLAN interworking report and Tutorial meeting

Dear Binita, Hyun Seo, and All,

Thank you for this discussion, please continue to develop text proposals/edits for the report on this reflector so others can also participate.  Open discussion should help us reach consensus and enable the SC to develop a high quality report acceptable to all.

I also look forward to seeing the tutorial outline and assignments.

s

Once last thought – to help everyone follow the items they have interest in – I think it would be best to separate topics by e-mail subject, so the flow of the discussion can be easily followed.

Therefore, please indicate in the e-mail subject if the email is related to the report or the tutorial, as these are related but independent efforts.  Also it may be helpful to have different e-mail threads for particular report topics/clauses e.g. one e-mail thread for section 7.2 and one e-mail thread for section 6.5.  I think this will enable participants to contribute in their areas of expertise, and will promote focused discussions.

Thank you for your contributions to these activities.

Regards,

Joseph Levy

802.11 AANI SC Chair.

HI Joseph, Hyun  and other AANI Members,

One of the main comments I heard from Hyun in the last AANI meeting was that the key focus of 11-20/0013 is to identify QoS related gaps on the WLAN side for 5G and WLAN interworking. I think with that highlighted as the focus for 11-20/0013, one way to merge the two report would be to take the 11-20/1376 which has comprehensive details on all the functionality and the gaps on 5G and WLAN interworking (including QoS) and merge the QoS related gaps identified in 11-20/0013 into the report 11-20/1376 under section  7.2 and 6.5.

That is one possible way I see to merge the two reports to create a good quality report which can be used as a valuable reference by the stakeholders.

Let me know what you think about that.

Hyun and all,

Regarding, the tutorial,  I will manage the time slot assignment based on the number of presenters and content.

I will also have slides on Gap analysis including QoS related gaps. We will need to align our slides on the gap analysis.

Please send me your slides and we can try to align.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Binita

Subject: [STDS-802-11-AANI] WLAN interworking report and Tutorial meeting

Dear AANI chair Joseph and members,

Thank you for interesting and efforts to give comments,  and discuss on interworking issues.

Now, the editorial comments are fixed and the technical comments should be resolved

considering Binita's report and comments.

I and co-authors updated working technical report(IEEE 802.11-20-0012r5 ) by reflecting comments collection,

and try to find out how two report could be merged into one report.

Any idea or comment will be appreciated to develop a valuable report.

As for tutorial meeting, I would like to present the key point of report as follows

- Topic : Technical gap analysis and QoS management in  5GS-WLAN interworking

- Time : 20 minutes(TBD)

I would ask Dr. Binita will manage time slot assignment on tutorial.

Best regards

Hyun Seo Oh
