[STDS-802-11-CAC] Fwd: Assistance regarding wireless safety
--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Chairs' Advisory Committee Reflector ---
See below. I'm willing to go talk to the Ashland, Massachusetts,
School Committee or Board of Health, but I'm not much of a PHY guy. If
people could give me some references next week when I'm in Los
Angeles, or send them too me, it would be helpful. Even more helpful
would be someone who knows all this stuff and is in the Boston area
who could help...
Thanks,
Donald

Subject: Assistance regarding wireless safety
To: d3e3e3@xxxxxxxxx
Hi Donald,
My name is Adam Elbirt and I volunteer with the Ashland Education
Foundation, Inc (AEFI). I am a PhD in EE (IEEE Senior Member) and was
brought in to speak to the Ashland MA School Committee about the safety
issues associated with WiFi, cellular, and EMF because a school employee,
CeCe Doucette, is claiming that these wireless devices pose safety risks
to the children in Ashland schools. Ms. Doucette is citing bogus research
studies and reports, none of which are based on scientific research/facts
and she is attempting to play upon safety fears and use scare tactics to
get wireless technologies banned from the Ashland public school system.
Unfortunately Ms. Doucette's best friend, Laurie Tosti is chair of the
Ashland School Committee and is backing up Ms. Doucette's claims.
I wanted to reach out to you and the IEEE 802.11 standards group to try to
locate subject area experts (I only have 2 years of telecom experience)
who would be willing to speak to the School Committee and/or Board of
Health regarding the safety of these technologies. Would you be willing
to speak on this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Adam Elbirt
