[STDS-802-11-CAC] Update on IEEE-SA conferencing tool

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Chairs' Advisory Committee Reflector ---

I sent an email a couple of weeks ago about a conferencing tool from the IEEE-SA.

I now have some more information.

The IEEE-SA pays per registered user.   They want 802.11 to have a single user

(well,  actually they would support > 1 user,  but not one per CAC member).

I have set up a join.me account under 802_11_chair@xxxxxxxx which can be used

to run telecons.   I will give the password to any member of the CAC that asks for

it.  Remember,  this is for IEEE-SA business only.

Some observations:

1.       According to IEEE-SA staff, only a single telecon can run at a time.   We generally don’t overlap,  but neither do we test for overlaps.

2.       Dial-ins are easily accessible for many countries.   These are not toll-free.

3.       Audio via dial in computer works,  but only if you are not insider your corporate firewall.

Best Regards,

Adrian P STEPHENS
