Hi,
I've been selected to Chair the LPWAN (Low-Power Wide Area Networks) BoF at the upcoming meeting IETF meeting in Buenos Aires. (Actually, I think which BoFs will be held in Buenos Aires has not yet been formally decided yet but I believe the probability is very high it will be approved.)
The BoF is primarily oriented to what IETF protocols or extended/gap-filled versions thereof should be use in the LPWAN environment. But I was noticing the it seems that for standardized lower layers only 802.15 stuff is being thought about. See
I was thinking that some very brief presentation on 802.11, probably mentioning 802.11ah but concentrating a bit more on the LRLP TIG, telling people of its existence and how they could participate if they wanted, would be appropriate. It would be best if I did not give such a presentation since I'm Chair but any appropriate person from 802.11 who is going to be in Buenos Aires could do so...
(Actually, I think the above URL lets you edit the spreadsheet so someone could add 802.11ah if they though it was appropriate, including adding a reference to the 11ah draft at the bottom. :-)
Thanks,
Donald
