Hello Edward,

Technically, I think it is one motion (the confirmation). 

For our operations manual:

"The TG Secretary shall be appointed by the TG Chair and confirmed by a TG motion that is approved with a minimum 50% majority."

The election is essentially to guide your choice as chair.

The motion is approved.
