Re: [STDS-802-11-REG] NPRM security language

Hi Eldad, can we guarantee that good hacker can not do it? May we can discuss the following two options:

Our answer: Manufacturers should ensure that reconfiguring firmware or software which affects regulatory compliance, by someone other than the manufacturer or authorized by the manufacturer, is made very difficult.

Our answer: Manufacturers should ensure that reconfiguring firmware or software which affects regulatory compliance by general public is made very difficult.

Thanks,

Vinko..

FCC question: For example, should we require that manufacturers ensure that modifying or reconfiguring firmware or software will make a device inoperable in certain bands?

Our answer: Manufacturers should ensure that reconfiguring firmware or software which affects regulatory compliance, by someone other than the manufacturer or authorized by the manufacturer, is not possible by general public.
