G’day Yongho I am the author of one of the LoA related comments. I would like to participate in the discussion but will be chairing a meeting of the IEEE 802 JTC1 SC in
Tuesday PM1. Would you consider moving this agenda item to another time? I object to the proposed resolution to my comment. While it is true that the text has not changed, the justification for the text has definitely changed given
it has only recently become known that Qualcomm has not provided an acceptable LoA to IEEE-SA on about 60 patents that are asserted to be standards essential.
I note that following the reasoning in the proposed resolution to its logical conclusion means that there would be no possibility for the WG to review any
text inserted into a draft for which it was later discovered there was no acceptable LoA. This is clearly not the intent of the rules and is contrary to the best interests of the industry. There are some valid reasons to reject my comment, but the proposed
reason is not one of them. Andrew From: stds-802-11-tgah@xxxxxxxx [mailto:stds-802-11-tgah@xxxxxxxx]
