It looks ok to me. Thanks, Hitoshi.

Lei

Subject: [STDS-802-11-TGAI] resolution for CID2865

Hi Lei and George,

Is this resolution acceptable for you?

Comment:
"Have multiple questions regarding the paragraph in line 24 on page 90:
1). How long should the AP wait for HLP packet from DS to the STA before
transmitting association response frame?
2). What should the status code value be used in the Association
response frame sending before AP receives the HLP packet from DS
targeted to the STA?
3) The HLP packets from DS targeted to the STA needs further
description, e.g., ""as a response to the HLP packet extracted from the
Association request frame and sent from AP to DS previously"". Please
note that lots of other packets from DS to AP can be HLP packets.
4) In addition to a normal data frame, can an FILS action frame be used
by the AP to transport the HLP packet(s) from DS to the STA?
5). what happens if no responding HLP packets from DS?"

Resolution:
"Revised.
1) The non-AP STA will wait dot11AssociationResponseTimeOut. So the AP
shall transmit Association Response in time. The AP transmits HLP frames
in Association Response if they come in time.
2) The status code depends only on Association status. So HLP
encapsulation does not affect the status code of the response. The
non-AP STA also does not care whether the HLP frames are included in the
response or not.
If the HLP frames are included in the response, the non-AP STA forwards
it to the higher layer software. The text ""The status code of
Association/Reassociation Response is not affected by the result of this
procedure."" is added in clause 10.44.4.1.
3) The AP does not care about the contents of the HLP frames. So the AP
does not know what kind of the response will come or even whether the
response from the DS will come or not.
The AP forwards any frames of which the destination MAC address
indicates the STA. It is same as state 4.
4) No. After successful association, the AP goes into state 4.
5) The AP and the non-AP STA do not care. The higher layer software
should solve it.

Clause 10.44.4.1 has been rewritten. See the latest revision of 11-13/1294."

regards,
