Hello, I have a concern about the resolution for CID 4841. The comment was: What is the incentive for a non-AP STA to use DILS? The resolution was: Rejected. DILS is used to improve the link setup performance in pre-association stage by differentiating STAs with different priorities. The incentive for non-AP STA is similar to that of EDCA which is used for associated STAs. However, DILS is optional, while EDCA is mandatory (for QoS STAs), so the analogy does not work. Hence DILS will only be used if it provides a benefit -- what is the benefit for a given STA (as opposed to the BSS)? Why would a STA choose to set dot11DILSActivated to true?
