Hi Chris,
I hear you and I appreciate your comment in making sure that the task
group is not lagging behind the timeline we have agreed in the
November plenary, i.e., to complete comment resolution of the
remaining CIDs for D2.0 and consider a motion in moving forward for a
recirculation ballot for D3.0. As a side remark, one of the main
reasons we revise the timeline is because our amendment can only be
published after the publication of the REVmd amendment.
I would like to clarify that what I mean new does not mean a new topic
outside the scope of aY. Based on my reading on 18/2094 that has been
uploaded on mentor, it is within the scope of the PAR. While we have
not seen the proposed draft text 18/2095 yet, I believe the author
would like to consider adding text to an Annex on this topic.
Per my call for agenda items sent on November 28, technical
presentation is within the scope for the teleconference calls
(http://www.ieee802.org/11/email/stds-802-11-tgay/msg00676.html). It
is not out of order.
Nevertheless, the task group determines the agenda. I will provide a
draft of the agenda for consideration by the group and we can have a
further discussion prior to the approval of the agenda,
Regards,
Edward

Discussion of new technology that is not tied to a letter ballot comment, and probably not even within the scope of the PAR, is a distraction to the group and plainly out of order.

>> As you mention, WLAN radar is a new topic. Therefore, the appropriate forum for this presentation would be the WNG Standing Committee, not a task group that is preparing a draft for sponsor ballot. If we want to open up 802.11ay to new technology at this stage, I would suggest that in the January session we allocate time for that discussion and that we allocate further time for a review of the impact on our timeline.
