Hi Joe, Xiaofei, thank you for the timely work. I wanted to suggest to show different numbers of “lower MAC + PHY” units on the AP MLD and non-AP MLD sides of Slide 6 (e.g. one side 3, one side 4), which will also result in small changes
to Slide 7. Showing some of these units as not connected helps with discussions related to switching. While we’re at it, you probably want to put an AP label and a non-AP label on the right and left side of Slide 6. I think people are using “STA” for the lower MAC + PHY unit. Are you intentionally avoiding that? A multi-PHY STA concept? Regards, From: Joseph Levy <Joseph.Levy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Alfred and All, I have uploaded a contribution that discusses an MLD architecture that is well aligned with the current 802.11 basic architecture and will hopefully allow many existing 802.11 features to be reused to support MLD operation. The intent
of providing this contribution is to provide a starting point for a top down TGbe MLD discussion.

https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/20/11-20-1122-00-00be-802-11be-architecture-association-discussion.pptx Alfred – I’m not sure where this top down MLD architecture document should be discussed, should it be discussed in a TGbe Gen or a TGbe MAC teleconference? Please let me know your preference for where this should be discussed.
All – comments, questions, and discussion on this contribution are welcome.
Regards, Joseph Levy From: Alfred Asterjadhi <asterjadhi@xxxxxxxxx> FYI. Please consider attending if you are interested in discussions related to MLO architecture). Regards,
From: mark.hamilton2152@xxxxxxxxx <mark.hamilton2152@xxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, July 21, 2020 1:32 PM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of
the organization. All, I am announcing an 802.11 ARC SC teleconference, for Aug 6 (Thursday), from 10:00am-12:00(noon) ET. The agenda is focused on considerations of the architecture that is evolving in TGbe and in particular the multi-link operation structures, and how that architecture fits into – or needs to modify – the overall 802.11 architecture. Any
guidance/feedback we have to TGbe is also appropriate to raise, as part of these considerations. We would strongly encourage anyone with expertise/interest in the architecture implications of TGbe’s multi-link operation to attend. I’m sure we’ll need guidance to make sure we’re understanding the TG’s intent and direction on the concepts,
before we can have an informed response. Call-in details will come out shortly. Anyone with submissions for discussion, please let me know, and I formulate a more details agenda as well. Thanks.
