Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBE] PDT PHY - EHT Modulation and Coding Schemes (EHT-MCSs)

Hi Ron

I am sorry that I didn’t make it clear enough.

Please find the attached to share what Wook bong, Edward and me briefly discussed yesterday.

Looking at DCN0997 tgbe-spec-text-volunteers-and-status.docx, there are two subjects below.

What I thought, when those were assigned, is EHT Modulation and coding schemes correspond to 27.3.7 (HE modulation and coding schemes (HE-MCSs)) while Parameters for EHT-MCSs correspond to 27.5 (Parameters for HE-MCSs). So DCN 1290 includes a bunch of tables for Parameters for EHT-MCSs.

Rethna’s draft includes two subjects together in DCN1338 so now we have contents conflicts.

We might have three options…

  • Opt.1 Remove the table in DCN1338 and refer the tables in DCN1290
  • Opt.2 Contents in DCN1290 could be combined into DCN1338.
  • Opt.3 keep your format and update it based on the feedbacks then I withdraw DCN 1290.

There was discussion on whether to include whole tables…. (more than 100 pages full of tables to cover variable RU sizes with up to Nss 16)

For the first version as reviewed in TTT discussion, we decided to make it simple.

As a result, it just presents one table with Nss 1 for each RU and for the rest (Nss 2 to 16) to be calculated by multiplying Nss.

Any options are fine to me.

Regards,

Yujin

Hi Yujin,

Thank you for your review.  Could you explain your comment [yn3]? I’m not following what you propose to do.

Thanks,

Ron

Dear PHY EHT Modulation and Coding Schemes (EHT-MCSs) TTT members,

Please review and share your comments. Unfortunately, the document has a decent number of tables to cope with. If you wish, feel free to revise.

Regards,

Rethna.

Hi, Edward and Wook Bong.

I checked this out and found out there are content conflict as below.

What I thought was EHT Modulation and coding schemes correspond to 27.3.7 (HE modulation and coding schemes (HE-MCSs))

And Parameters for EHT-MCSs correspond to 27.5 (Parameters for HE-MCSs)

But Rethna’s document includes both together.

And if Rethna deletes all the tables and make a reference instead to the subclause in DCN 1290, then there would be no conflicts.

To Rethna,

Do you have any suggestions?

Regards,

Yujin

Hi Yujin and Rethna,

I noticed that there are two PDTs on EHT-MCS.

Both of them contain table…

Can you guys clarify this?

Also, I have several comments on 11-20/1338.

There are many texts which assume we have EHT SU and EHT ER SU. But we don’t have those PPDU format.

Moreover, I don’t recall agreement on MCS levels for EHT-SIG.

I have few more, but will wait for above discussion first.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Wook Bong Lee

Hello Yujin,

Thanks for this.   I understand that there are similar but not exact contents in 20/1338r1 that contains more than 100 tables.   May I know if it is possible to merge these two PDTs together?

Regards,

Edward
