I believe there is an error in baseline spec for the reference you cited:

 

The increment to a change sequence value should occur at the next beacon so it should be in a single frame (Beacon frame not Beacon frame(s)).

The subsequent Beacon and Probe Response frames would carry the new (incremented) value for change sequence.

 

Per SP #191/#77, RNR in Probe Response frame would also include a field for carrying the most recent value of change sequence. This text is not covered in your doc.

 

Regarding the missing text on MBSSID, I prefer that we address it now. But if you have a strong opinion, could you please add a TBD so that we can address it in D0.1?

This doc is not yet ready for SP. It is missing some of the changes we discussed during the previous IEEE call. It also needs to cover the changes in RNR IE 9.4.2.170.2 clause.

 

Could you please take a look at my comments embedded in the attached file?

See attached and below some suggestions.

Attached doc also has some additional comments as some of the sentence you have don’t work for non-transmitted BSSIDs.

Also, size of Change Sequence is TBD.

An AP within an AP MLD shall include in the Beacon and Probe Response frames it transmits a Change Sequence fields for each of all APs in the same AP MLD. 

  • The Change Sequence field for each of other APs of the MLD shall be carried in the MLD Parameters subfield in the TBTT Information field of the Reduced Neighbor Report element corresponding to that AP.
  • The Change Sequence field for the AP shall be carried in the TBD field.

 

If an AP within an AP MLD is a transmitted BSSID in a Multiple BSSID set, then the AP shall additionally:

  • Include a Change Sequence field for each of other APs of the MLDs to which the non-transmitted BSSIDs of the same Multiple BSSID set are affiliated to in the MLD Parameters subfield in the TBTT Information field of the Reduced Neighbor Report element corresponding to that AP
  • include in the Multiple BSSID element of the Beacon and Probe Response frames it transmits a Change Sequence fields for each of nontransmitted BSSIDs in the same multiple BSSID set .
    • The Change Sequence field for each of the nontransmitted BSSIDs shall be carried in a TBD field

 

An AP within an AP MLD shall increase the value (modulo TBD maximum value) of the Change Sequence field in the next transmitted Beacon frame(s) for the AP when a critical update occurs for that AP. An AP within an AP MLD shall increase the value (modulo TBD maximum value) of the Change Sequence field in the next transmitted Beacon frame(s) for another AP in the same AP MLD when a critical update occurs for that AP. An AP within an AP MLD shall increase the value (modulo TBD maximum value) of the Change Sequence field in the next transmitted Beacon frame(s) for a nontransmitted BSSID in the same multiple BSSID set when a critical update occurs to these APs.The critical updates are defined in 11.2.3.15 (TIM Broadcast) and the TBD additional update can be added.
