Hi Edward, Can you please add me to TTT for this PDT? Thanks Yan From: Edward Au <edward.ks.au@xxxxxxxxx> Caution: EXT Email
Hi all, Per the email thread below, there is a new TTT - Nominal packet padding values selection rules. If you would like to work on Mengshi on this topic, please let me know and I will
add you to his TTT.
Regards, ---------- Forwarded message --------- Hi Edward, After the discussion with Yan, it is agreed that it’s better to use the title “Nominal packet padding values selection rules”
for the text related to the 11ax subclause 26.12 HE PPDU post-FEC padding and packet extension. I’d like to volunteer to be the POC of this one. Thank you.

Hi Mengshi, I feel that whole subclause is talking about how to select PE duration based on either PPE thresholds or Nominal_PACKET_PADDING values for packet extension. Can we have title
like “Rules for packet extension” or “PE duration selection rules”? Thanks Yan From: humengshi <humengshi@xxxxxxxxxx>
Hi Yan, Thanks for your comments. I think although it is named 26.12 HE PPDU post-FEC padding and packet extension, the text in 26.12 mainly talks about
how to select the Nominal Packet Padding value 0, 8 and 16 μs in 11ax (for both the PPET method and the Common Nominal Packet Padding method), which is not given in the part PPDU padding process. You can see the Table 26-13 PPE thresholds per PPET8 and
PPET16 in 11ax in 26.12. Neither the PPE Thresholds field in subclause 9 nor the 36.3.12.3.4 EHT PPDU padding process touches the selection of nominal packet padding values. If you think the name EHT PPDU post-FEC padding and packet extension is confusing,
we can think another name for the text on the selection of nominal packet padding values. Best regards, Mengshi Hu 发件人: Yan(msi)

Hi Mengshi, Edward
We have 36.3.12.3.4 EHT PPDU padding process which includes both pre-FEC and post-FEC padding (post-FEC padding bits calculation is done in Encoding process for an EHT MU PPDU).
Although 11ax has a separate clauses post-FEC padding, I think they have the same contents. Besides, in 11ax, the text are
“The pre-FEC padding process is described in this subclause
(Pre-FEC padding process), and the encoding and post-FEC padding process are described in 27.3.12.5 (Coding).”
It is kind of confusing that post-FEC padding is put in another subclause. I think it is naturally to have post-FEC text after encoding since it is related to pre-FEC padding factor, NCBPS etc parameters.
You can do check those contents and see if you still need to create a new subclause.
Thanks

Hi Edward, While preparing the PDT on PPE Thresholds field in EHT Capabilities, I find it is also needed to create a subclause EHT PPDU post-FEC padding and packet extension similar to the
subclause 26.12 HE PPDU post-FEC padding and packet extension in 11ax. Therefore, could you please add one row for EHT PPDU post-FEC padding and packet extension? I’d like to volunteer to be the POC of
this one. Thank you.
