Hi Zinan:

Thank you for sharing your view on the proposed text in 692r2.

Your understanding is correct. The case that an 80 MHz operating non-AP EHT STA may operate in a non-primary 80 MHz is the SST operation which is described as an exception after “except”.

I can modify the text “in this case” to be “in this exceptional case” in those two paragraphs, as you suggested, in 21/754r0 that is expected to be discussed in today’s TGbe PHY call again. Let’s see the view on this from other members’ in the group.

Best regards,

Yan.

Hi Yan,

Thanks for presenting 744 on the last PHY meeting (05/06). Multiple comments are referred to 692r2.

I have one question on 692r2 (Section 36.3.2.2, 9th Paragraph) :

An 80 MHz operating non-AP EHT STA shall operate in the primary 80 MHz channel except when the 80MHz operating non-AP EHT STA sets dot11HESubchannelSelectiveTransmissionImplemented equal to true and parks on an 80 MHz channel without there exists no preamble puncturing. In this case, the 80 MHz operating non-AP EHT STA may operate in any 80 MHz channel within Primary 160 MHz of the BSS bandwidth by following the procedure in 26.8.7 (HE subchannel selective transmission).

May I know if  “this case” in the sentence above refer to the statement after “except”? If it is the case, to avoid the unclearness of the text, I would suggest the following change of the text for these two sentences:

An 80 MHz operating non-AP EHT STA shall operate in the primary 80 MHz channel except when the 80MHz operating non-AP EHT STA sets dot11HESubchannelSelectiveTransmissionImplemented equal to true and parks on an 80 MHz channel without preamble puncturing. In this exceptional case, the 80 MHz operating non-AP EHT STA may operate in any 80 MHz channel within Primary 160 MHz of the BSS bandwidth by following the procedure in 26.8.7 (HE subchannel selective transmission)

Similarly, the following text

“A 20 MHz operating non-AP EHT STA shall operate in the primary 20 MHz channel except when the 20MHz operating non-AP EHT STA sets dot11HESubchannelSelectiveTransmissionImplemented equal to true. In this case, the 20 MHz operating non-AP EHT STA may operate in any 20 MHz channel within the BSS bandwidth of 80 MHz or 160 MHz, or within the primary 160 MHz when the BSS bandwidth 320 MHz by following the procedure in 26.8.7 (HE subchannel selective transmission).”

can be changed to

“A 20 MHz operating non-AP EHT STA shall operate in the primary 20 MHz channel except when the 20MHz operating non-AP EHT STA sets dot11HESubchannelSelectiveTransmissionImplemented equal to true. In this exceptional case, the 20 MHz operating non-AP EHT STA may operate in any 20 MHz channel within the BSS bandwidth of 80 MHz or 160 MHz, or within the primary 160 MHz when the BSS bandwidth 320 MHz by following the procedure in 26.8.7 (HE subchannel selective transmission).”

Best,

Zinan
