Hi Peshal,

Thanks for the contribution. I have the following concerns.

1)  It is much easier to get the characteristics of the traffic by the STA instead of by the AP, because they are related to the application who produces the traffic. The APP on the STA can ask the peer APP entity even if it cannot infer the characteristics of the DL traffic.

[PN] Agreed that the characteristics of the traffic are related to the application the produces the traffic. However, there are a number of applications that support more than one traffic type (e.g., social media applications). Further, a number of applications can be run from within a web browser (e.g., YouTube, news channel websites, etc.) and all these applications run from within one application (i.e., the web browser) can have different traffic characteristics. Therefore, even with full knowledge of the application running, the STA may not have the necessary traffic profile information for DL traffic.

2)  The STA has no idea when the AP is ready to send the TSPEC. It is not a good idea for the STA to request the TSPEC again and again.

[PN] Not sure if I fully understand this comment.

Subject: [STDS-802-11-TGBE] TSPEC Request Contribution Discussion

Hi all,

I presented this contribution today - TSPEC Request (https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/21/11-21-0395-05-00be-tspec-request.pptx). As there were many people in the queue who did not get a chance to ask their questions, I’ll be starting an offline email group for discussion. I have noted the names of everyone who were in the queue and some folks who messaged me privately to be added to the discussions.

If anyone else wants to get added to the email discussion group, please let me know. I’ll wait for a couple of days to give people time to reply to this email and then start the email discussion group.

Thanks.
