Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBF] TGbf meeting on February 28, March 1 and 3

Rui,

During the presentation of your document and email discussion that followed, I don’t remember hearing any arguments in favor of defining a mandatory reference metric for the threshold-based phase.  Instead, various commenters argued that it doesn’t make sense to define one since different applications have different requirements.  As a matter of fact, your contribution clearly states, in more than one place, that the metric should be “non-mandatory” – see example below.

Thus, I’d suggest for you to exclude the possibility of defining a mandatory metric from the SP.

Thanks,

Claudio

Hi Tony

Could you add the following straw poll into the agenda?

Do you agree that TGbf should define the “CSI variation” in Motion 18 based on a reference metric in the threshold-based reporting phase?

Note:

-          The computation of the CSI variation should be based on this reference metric and the computing method is implementation dependent.

-          Should the reference metric be made normative or informative is TBD.

This is a follow up of contribution 11-22/0328r0 (now it is 11-22/0328r1) and offline discussions on this topic.

Best regards,

Ray
