Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBF] WLAN sensing for non-infrastructure mode

Dear Sang, and all,

Thanks for the quick response.

Can 11bf re-consider this important use case? My reasons being:
- I understand that some major players have need/intention to do sensing in non-infrastructure mode.
- And many routers are mesh routers sold in packages of 2, 3 or 4.
- And many IoT devices (e.g. smart speakers, smart plugs, smart lighting, smart security cameras, smart TV, etc) may establish ad hoc network (especially in bigger homes/facilities) and may need to do sensing in non-infrastructure mode.
- And 11bf is the natural platform to standardize sensing solutions for these.

Thanks,
Oscar

Hello Oscar.

Good question.

Original R2R sensing did not preclude your case, but people were hesitant to accept non-infrastructure mode.

That was the reason R2R sensing was confined to infrastructure mode.

I hope this will answer your question.

Best regards,

Sang

Subject : [STDS-802-11-TGBF] WLAN sensing for non-infrastructure mode

Dear Tony, Claudio and experts,

Do our current D0.1 or SFD cover sensing for non-infrastructure mode? When there is no AP, how do we do sensing?

Thanks,
Oscar
