Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBN] PDT-MAC-M-AP-COORDINATED-FRAMEWORK

Dear Arik,

Thanks a lot for the providing a nice first draft!

A few questions, comments, and suggestions:

  • Similarly to what Jay indicated, the current content of 37.7.1.2 (SP-based coordination schemes) might better fit in 37.7.1 (General), as a general description with subclauses map is usually included there.
  • (Related to the above) Could you please clarify what is the intention of introducing  37.7.1.1 and 37.7.1.2? Without a boilerplate text that describes at high level what is the intention of the subclause is not trivial to evaluate whether these subclauses are needed or not. As an approach I’d recommend to start from the minimum number of subclauses, and then add as we go. If the intention of the text in 37.7.1.1 is to have descriptors of the schemes I think it may go in 37.7.1 (General) for now.
  • On the lines of the comment above, maybe we can hold on adding subclauses such as 37.7.2.3 (M-AP Coordination Discovery Passive Scanning) and 37.7.2.4 (M-AP Coordination Discovery Active Scanning) until we have relevant passing motions.
  • It seems that some text related to passing motions could be added in the related subclauses, please see the attached document for suggestions.
  • Some suggestions are provided in the attached document: shorten the names of subclauses when possible, alignment with the style guidelines (e.g., capitalization in subclauses title), alignment of subclause title to 24/1993, and some ideas for the subclauses structure for your consideration.

Thanks again for the great work!

Best,

Giovanni
