Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBN] [STDS-802-11-TGBN] Fwd: [STDS-802-11-TGBN] PDT-MAC TWT SP Management

Hi all,

Based on discussion in this thread and feedback during the call, I have removed signaling specifics at this stage and the revision is a much simplified version, which captures the agreement in the motion. Please review and provide any additional feedback.
https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/24/11-24-2056-01-00bn-pdt-mac-twt-sp-management.docx

Below is excerpt of new text being added, for quick reference.

Text to be adopted begins here:

TGbn editor: Please insert the following subclause in P802.11bnD0.1:

37.x UHR TWT operation

37.x.1 TWT SP Management

A UHR STA that is a TWT requesting STA or a TWT scheduled STA may use TBD signaling during an on-going TWT SP to indicate that the STA does not have any pending traffic for the remainder of the current TWT SP.

Text to be adopted ends here.

Hi Kumail,
If you change the Reserved field in the QoS Control field to the new EOTSP field without any capability indication, it means that a legacy STA also indicates the same functionality.
So, if the group decides to use the QoS Control field, an additional table entry should be created for this new signaling.
In 11be, we couldn't reach a consensus on the signaling details. I believe it is still a controversial topic.
I suggest removing the signaling details and leaving it as TBD, as stated in the passed motion.

Thanks,
Yongho

Hi all, Happy New Year!

Yue Zhao, thanks for your review and sharing your comment. My intention is to have a discussion on the signaling and make progress in TGbn, the sooner the better. We have discussed this proposal in TGbe as well, so this is not a new concept.

We are discussing signaling aspects in other PDTs as well, so as I understand it’s not a procedural issue if the group can agree on signaling in the PDT.

Thanks,
Kumail

Hello Kumail, Alfred, and all,

Thanks Alfred for the email and thanks Kumail for drafting the text.

The document is clear to me. But I have a concern. The motion mentions that the exact signaling mechanism is TBD, but in the draft, the indication is shown as a new field in the QoS Control field. Shall we remove PDT text relating to signaling for now to keep consistency with the passed motion?

Best regards,
Yue Zhao

Forwarding to the reflector since Kumail is having some issues.

Please review the PDT below and provide feedback via the reflector.

Hi all,

I am starting a thread for discussion on PDT for TWT SP Management.

Proposed Draft Text for TWT SP Management

As POC, I have created an initial PDT document which is 11-24-2056:

We discussed this proposal earlier in 802.11be as well. At the time, the group’s feedback was that it is at a later stage for EHT and to discuss it in 802.11bn. Since we already discussed and had some convergence in the group, I have tried to retain the text as much as possible as a starting point.

Please review and let me know any comments/suggestions. Looking forward to working together!

PS:
I have taken the author list from the TTT list found in the document

11-24-1698-13-00bn-tgbn-d0-1-spec-text-volunteers-and-status

If you have volunteered as TTT for this topic and your name is not in the list, please let me know.
If your name is spelled incorrectly, or is missing an affiliation, or has an incorrect affiliation, please let me know as well.

Best regards,
Kumail.
