| Hi folks, Alfred’s resolutions to my CID on ICF/ICR rule in clause 37.7 look reasonable, as they address multiple vague aspects in the current 11bn spec by clarifying how 11bn works with the control frame protection feature in baseline 802.11mf. However, the resolutions got deferred multiple times, which makes me wonder if there are technical concerns people have specifically in the ICF/ICR context, as CFP-related text has already been motioned into other subclauses in the 802.11bn spec. During the call, the only question I heard was “why cip use ccmp/gcmp not bip? It’s better to explain why not use BIP? CIP just adds mic, it's quite similar to bip. You don't need to protect the whole frame”. I’ll cite Po-kai’s answers from the chat window about why GCMP is a better fit: BIP specifically ties to beacon frame format on MIC computation. BIP has no padding requirement so far for quick turnaround as needed by CFP. If you have any other concerns to add back the text in grey in 1817r2, please share it with the group so that we can find a way to address them instead of having a broken spec. Thanks, Yanjun
