Hello TGbp, Several SPs contain references to an “AMP AP”, “AP”, or “reader”. I have concerns with these entities being used for text added to the SFD. According to the current IEEE 802.11-2024, an AP is defined as access point: [AP] An entity that contains one station (STA) and provides access to the distribution system services, via the wireless medium (WM) for associated STAs. An AP comprises a STA and a distribution system access function (DSAF). Hence, the SPs implicitly require that the STA that the AMP STA is communicating with has access to the DS and also that the AMP STA is associated to it (using the IEEE 802.11-2024 association procedure). I do not think
that this is a restriction we want for AMP STAs. The term “reader” is not defined at all in the standard or in the current SFD. Hence, SPs should not reference to it. A simple solution for some of the SPs would be to remove the part related to the “AP” or “reader”, for example instead of: Do you agree to add the following text to TGbp SFD? I suggest: Do you agree to add the following text to TGbp SFD?
