--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Task Group M Technical Reflector ---
Hi All,
a. Peter ECCLESINE - discussed on prior telecom – 20 mins i. https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/17/11-17-0950-01-000m-cid-337-super-operating-classes.pptx After our discussion last time I renamed the grouping to Cumulative Classes. Having spent more time thinking about cumulative channel set / frequency band abilities in 5 GHz bands (which already has four sets of operating classes for frequencies - *5150-5250 (Global 115), *5250-5725 (Global 118 and 121), *5725-5825 (Global 124), *5725-5850 (Global 125), and looking forward to another set of frequencies above 5850 MHz,I think the Cumulative Classes value should not indicate the cumulative range of channel sets/frequency bands (5150-5850), but can indicate the presence of another info element that does (a bitfield with subband 1, subband 2, subband 3, ...). I do not have draft text today, but hope to get feedback on each of Operating Class indicates Cumulative in channel widths ; and Operating Class indicates that a channel set bitfield (supported channel sets, rather than supported channels), is to be used. petere On 8/11/2017 9:50 AM, Dorothy Stanley
