Dear 802.11, The Standards Association Standards board committees met this week in New Jersey. There were no items of business placed before RevCom but we had placed the items below on the agenda for NesCom. NesCom recommended that the Standards Board approve all three and the Standards Board has granted approval this morning. 4.2 Extension Requests IEEE Computer Society/LAN/MAN Standards Committee P802.11ac Comments/Vote IEEE Standard for Information Technology - Telecommunications and Information Exchange Between Systems - Local and Metropolitan Area Networks - Specific Requirements - Part 11: Wireless LAN Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications - Amendment: Enhancements for Very High Throughput for operation in bands below 6GHz 4.3 New PARs IEEE Computer Society/LAN/MAN Standards Committee P802.11aj Comments/Vote Standard for Information technology--Telecommunications and information exchange between systems Local and metropolitan area networks--Specific requirements Part 11: Wireless LAN Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications Amendment: Wireless LAN Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications - Amendment: Enhancements for Very High Throughput to support Chinese millimeter wave frequency bands. 4.4 PARs for the Revision of Standards IEEE Computer Society/LAN/MAN Standards Committee P802.11 Comments/Vote Standard for Information technology--Telecommunications and information exchange between systems Local and metropolitan area networks--Specific requirements Part 11: Wireless LAN Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications Thanks to all for developing these PARs. Also please make note of the following plans. The 11ac PAR extension has no impact on the task group meeting plans or organization and business will progress as scheduled. The new 11aj activity will convene its first meeting in Beijing on September 26. Xiaoming Peng is appointed as Chair pro-tem. Officer elections in the TG will be conducted during their first meeting. Details about the meeting are on the 802.11 website. The new revision activity will be called REVmc. The new REVmc activity will convene its first meeting in Indian Wells on September 19.
