--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
This if being sent on behalf of Konstantinos Karachalios, the Managing Director of IEEE SA. Regards, Bruce Kraemer Chair 802.11 ** Dear IEEE-SA Community, The East Coast Tri-State area experienced a devastating storm earlier this week. The storm has impacted the IEEE family and IEEE operations. The IEEE has enacted its Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan and the professional staff team is working around the clock in challenging circumstances (e.g., major power outages and fuel shortage) to minimize impact on IEEE business and its constituency. Until further notice, the 445 Hoes Lane building is closed due to the lack of power. The 501 Hoes Lane building has power and is being utilized as a “command center” for business oversight, including the management of the IEEE Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan. With the IEEE Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan enacted, some systems are being taken offline and some relocated to areas outside of the storm affected area. While this plan is being implemented, you may see periods of application outages possibly for extended periods of time. The following SA services will be taken offline until further notice: -SADB (Standards Database) -Grouper (IEEE-SA Working Group web area) -Zigbee (document management service) The following SA services will not be affected: IEEE Xplore, the IEEE.org site and our mail services have been moved to their failover site and will be functional. The upcoming IEEE Board of Directors meetings next week will be reduced to a minimum to address very urgent, time critical issues and will be concentrated around Saturday to Monday next week. A message from IEEE President will be released soon. Due to the current challenges resulting from the storm, coupled with potential bad weather for mid-next week, we advise not traveling to New Jersey. The IEEE-SA Board series scheduled for later this month into early December is not impacted at this time. We greatly appreciate your understanding during this trying time.
