I would like to make a presentation in the HEW Study Group.

Draft topic:

“Wireless LAN from end users perspective, opportunities to improve QoE”

With this, I’d like to share some data and findings based on automated collection of performance data from numerous networks. We have collected a large amount of data with test client devices which continuously assess metrics like throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss, data rates, retry rates and success rates under continuously varying conditions. This may provide useful insights into future development of 802.11 standard.

Dear All,

On March 22, 2013 the IEEE 802 Executive Committee approved an 802.11 request to create a new Study Group called High Efficiency WLAN (HEW). Background information will soon be available there: http://www.ieee802.org/11/Reports/hew_update.htm.

The new HEW SG will meet for the first time the week of May 13 at the 802.11 Interim Meeting in Hawaii. The HEW SG has tentatively been allocated four meeting intervals in which to conduct activity during the meeting week. This e-mail is a Call for Submissions for the HEW Study Group for presentation at the May 802.11 Interim Meeting in Hawaii. Submissions should focus on material that will inform the group in its efforts to develop a PAR and 5C. This includes for instance use cases, problem statements, scope and purpose presentations.

Please upload your submissions to Mentor using the HEW SG identifier prior to May 12 and let me know by e-mail of your intention to present.

Thanks in advance for your planned participation in this new High Efficiency WLAN Study Group.
