Re: [STDS-802-11] HEW SG overview outline

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---

Hi Eldad and Yasu,

Many people outside the WG11 may be very curious by what technology and in what environment HEW is going to enhance the Wi-Fi efficiency.

So, HEW problem statement & its related simulation scenarios we’re considering (slightly different from the usage scenarios) may be very helpful for this kind of explanation, I think.

One more thing:

Regarding whether we also include enhancing the PHY peak data rate compared to 11ac, it still looks not clear to me while many people outside the WG11 must be very interested in it.

(FYI, while most of companies seem not so interested in this issue, but HEW usage model document still have some text specially for in-car entertainments etc.).

So, I think it may be great for us to give some official answer agreed in the SG when there are any questions coming up on this.

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Minho

Hello Eldad,

Thank you for the outline for the HEW SG overview.
It looks good to me.

I was wondering if we should add something like problem statement.
It will be good for better understanding the purpose and objective
of this activity.
What do you think about that?

Best regards,
Yasu

Hello all,

Below is an initial draft of an outline for the HEW SG overview:

·         Overview

·         Market Drivers

·         Applications / Usage Scenarios

·         Technology

·         PAR Scope & Explanatory Notes

·         References / Related Submissions

I based this on the VHT SG overviews.  Links are given below:

5 GHz

Please email suggested outline modifications to the reflector within the following week.  We will begin drafting slides after that.

Regards,

Eldad
