Re: [STDS-802-11] Regarding modeling of AoA/AoD for HEW channel models

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---

Hi Wookbong,

I agree that we may need more SG discussions on applicability of pure randomization to users close enough in the HEW.

It seems to call for kind of additional check especially for some scenarios with unequal distribution of users.

Thanks.

Regards,

Minho

Hi Minho,

Thanks for your e-mail.

So, we can randomly select AoA/AoD offset for each cluster as well as LoS path.

Actually my question was mainly for correlation between users.

Even if users are close enough, can we just generate AoA/AoD independently for those users?

Best regards,

Wookbong Lee

Subject: Regarding modeling of AoA/AoD for HEW channel models

Hi Simone, Wookbong and all,

At todays HEW session, there were some discussions on whether we need to newly apply specific AoA/AoD to indoor dense Wi-Fi environments, while we have used 360 degree normal distribution of AoA/AoD since 802.11ac days.

Enclosed is the document by which 802.11ac determined that 360 degree randomization might be appropriate for MU-MIMO in indoor Wi-Fi.

Please refer to this doc. and feel free to share your opinion on in what way we had better model AoA/AoD in indoor dense Wi-Fi environment for HEW.

One more thing :

As I mentioned today, regarding channel model in the HEW sim. scenarios #2, it seems that we dont have to add TGn channel model because TGac channel model already added.

From my understanding, TGac channel model is got by putting only BW expansion (up to 160MHz) and AoA/AoD randomization based on TGn channel model.

Thanks.

Regards,

Minho
