Thanks Adrian, and thanks to everyone who attended HEW SG
“long” meetings and contributed to bringing it to a successful conclusion. I’d like to announce my intention to stand for the
TGax chair position in May. I am looking forward to working with everyone to make
TGax a success. Regards; Osama. From:

Dear 802.11 members, The IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) Standards Board committees met this week in New Jersey. There were no items of 802.11 business placed before RevCom but we had placed the item below on the agenda for NesCom.
NesCom recommended that the Standards Board approve 802.11ax and
the Standards Board has granted approval this morning. From the NesCom agenda: 4.3 New PARs 6. P802.11ax
Standard for Information technology--Telecommunications and information exchange between systems Local and metropolitan area networks--Specific requirements Part 11: Wireless
LAN Medium Access Control (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) Specifications Amendment Enhancements for High Efficiency WLAN Congratulations and my thanks to all who developed the HEW PAR. I appoint Osama Aboul-Magd as chair pro tem of TGax, effective immediately. TGax will need to elect a chair like the other TGs in the May session. (The HEW SG telecon that is announced will now be a meeting of TGax, but that really changes nothing except the name.) Yours sincerely, Adrian P Stephens IEEE 802.11 Working Group Chair Office: +44 (1793) 404 825 ---------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________________________________________
