[STDS-802-11] Minutes posted for TGmc 2014-08-08 teleconference/ was Re: TGmc teleconference information: August 8, 15, 22, 29, Sept 5th at 10am Eastern/7am Pacific

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
All,

The minutes from today's 2014-08-08 TGmc teleconference are now posted, see https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/14/11-14-1004-01-000m-tgmc-telecon-minutes-aug-sept-2014.docx .

I call your attention to the proposed resolution of CID 3039, related to MBSS use of TKIP, which introduces text as shown below to be consistent with text for other BSS types. Please let us know if this causes issues with existing standards compliant equipment.

Thanks,

Dorothy
---------

1.1.1. CID 3039 (MAC)

1.1.1.1.              Review comment and similar text in surrounding sections.

1.1.1.2.              Propose to add text describing TKIP use prohibition to make consistent.

1.1.1.3.              Will this cause an issue for deployed HT/VHT MBSS devices? Believe not.

1.1.1.4.              Make this change visible to the membership – chair will call attention to this resolution in meeting notes posting.

1.1.1.5.              Proposed resolution: Revised, At 1916.19 insert “An HT STA in an MBSS shall eliminate TKIP as a choice for the pairwise cipher suite if CCMP is advertised by the peer or if the peer included an HT Capabilities element in any of its Beacon or Probe Response frames.”
