Paul,

I've been digging below the surface to try to get an understanding of the fundamental issues, hoping to find some common ground. At the same time, I've been feeling that, if we are going to partition the local space, then we ought to find something interesting to do it with it. I'm offering a proposal that I hope will be useful, or at least stimulate people to think outside the box about the opportunities. At the same time, I hope it can help with resolving the opposing viewpoints. I have posted a document:

The document is far, far too long to present on Monday night. Hopefully, I'll have time to highlight some key points. I'll be happy to discuss it with 802.1 and other WGs as well if there is interest.

Dear EC members,

I will chair the Monday night meeting for the IEEE 802c draft PAR discussion. Given that we've budgeted 1 hour, I request we follow this process:

a) presenters send their presentations to JohnD for posting to the EC Documents location on Mentor to the as soon as possible so people have a chance to review them off-line.

b) presenters keep their presentations as brief as possible

c) all questions be held until the presentations are complete and the discussion phase begins

I want to us have at least 30 minutes for discussion and a possible straw poll.
