[STDS-802-11] LRLP Call for Contributions and Teleconference Agendas
--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
All,
As expressed in the
LRLP November Closing Report, the Call for Contributions for the
January 2016 Interim is open.
Specific topics requested for contributions:
- 1) Coexistence Approaches -
- Solutions for hidden node problem/ OBSS issues with LRLP STAs
- Effect of LRLP waveforms on standard 802.11 - What does the LRLP PPDU
look like to the ED and CCA functions of the HT/VHT STA?
- How would low duty cycle of LRLP devices affect coexistence? How much
a duty cycle limit and/or Medium Occupancy Limit help? How is this
affected by large populations of sensors or LRLP devices that may be
associated with a single AP?
- 2) Latency versus power consumption trade-offs. (This affects the AP
(ageing and buffer retention times, possibly TIM size in Beacons) as well
as the STAs)
- 3) Requirement quantification of use cases - Duty Cycle, Range,
Number of devices, Throughput, Power / battery life
- 4) Mapping of use cases to quantified requirements
Contributions are encouraged to include text for adoption into the
output report.
To progress the
Draft TIG Output Report: 11-15-1446r0, the LRLP TIG will hold two
teleconferences for the ad-hoc editing groups.
- Dec 8, 2015, 11am EST: LRLP use cases and metrics and LRLP
requirements. Ad Hoc Lead ? Chitto Ghosh
- Dec 9, 2015, 11am EST: Technical feasibility and technical
material needed to initiate standardization. Ad Hoc Lead ? Michael
Fischer
Authors of LRLP contributions are requested to provide text that
captures the key points of their contribution as applicable to the output
report. Please forward text by email to Chitto and/or Michael according
to the topics.
Teleconference Agenda
- Call to Order
- Pre-PAR IEEE SA Patent Policy
