Dear 802.11 participants, Please see the email below. Glen writes: As a result, I have a number of requests for 802 WG chairs. Please:
1.
Make your WG members aware of the 5G SC and its background That’s why I’m forwarding this email. This SC will be meeting on Monday and Tuesday evenings in Macao. If you are interested in the 802(.11) & 5G/IMT-2020 topic, please participate there.
2.
Identify a WG contact for the 5G SC
I will do this.
3.
Assist in identifying existing PARs in your WG that might be related to 5G My initial SWAG is: 802.11ah 802.11ax 802.11ay Of completed projects, one could argue that almost any of them are relevant, but particularly relevant and relatively recent are 802.11ac & 802.11ad. On Behalf Of Glenn Parsons Folks, In preparation for the inaugural meeting of the 802 5G standing committee on Monday and Tuesday evening in Macau, I have prepared a brief agenda and background: https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/16/ec-16-0017-00-5GSG-5g-sc-agenda-march-2016.pdf For the March plenary, I would like to have as broad an involvement as possible to ensure that all projects could be included in our discussion of 5G. In order to assess the breadth on interest, I would like to ask each WG to help identify which of their current PARs may be related to 5G. To facilitate this, it would help for each WG to identify a prime for the 5G SG. My default will be to ask the WG chair to fill this role if no 5G SC prime is identified. The 5G SC will accept contributions from any 802 WG member, and it would be possible to accept 802 WG contributions or positions. Contributions are to be posted on EC Mentor site in the “EC 5G SC” group
As a result, I have a number of requests for 802 WG chairs. Please:
1.
Make your WG members aware of the 5G SC and its background
2.
Identify a WG contact for the 5G SC
3.
