[STDS-802-11] IEEE Policy on Indemnification

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---

Dear 802.11 participants,

One of the topics that has been exercising the EC members of late is the question of indemnification

by the IEEE for its volunteers (e.g., any of us participating in 802.11 in some volunteer officer role).

The following is an overview of the IEEE policy:

https://mentor.ieee.org/802-ec/dcn/16/ec-16-0018-00-00EC-2016-overview-of-ieee-indemnification.pptx

This is an FYI.  I am not going to attempt to interpret this in any way.  If members have questions I can

forward them to the IEEE.  If there is a sufficient volume of these, I will try to get legal staff from the IEEE

available to answer them in person.

Best Regards,

Adrian P STEPHENS
