Re: [STDS-802-11] LS from 3GPP RAN1 on LAA

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---

G’day Adrian

I am not sure it is worth responding to the message below because it would not actually change anything. Whether or not we send a liaison, 3GPP RAN1 will continue working on their response, and we will continue to know that.

On the topic of liaisons, it is possible that the PDED ad hoc may develop a liaison to send to 3GPP RAN1 relating to their request that 802.11ax adopt an ED of -72dBm. One possibility after today’s ad hoc teleconference is a liaison to 3GPP RAN1 responding to their request by reiterating IEEE 802’s previous request that they adopt an 802.11 style preamble with preamble detection. At the very least, it is likely we will suggest a liaison telling 3GPP RAN1 that we are working on their request. Whichever way it goes, I suspect a liaison will be proposed during the Friday plenary.

Andrew

Dear 802.11 participants,

I have received a liaison statement from 3GPP RAN1,  here: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.11/dcn/16/11-16-1343-00-0000-liaison-from-3gpp-ran1-on-laa.doc

If anybody wishes to generate a response to this,  please contact me asap,  and I can work that into
