Well, not unanimous… It was 45-2-3, per my notes. It would not be permissible to arbitrarily change the end date contrary to what the WG and TG voted for. (I would also note it was unanimous in November). FWIW, Jon

Adrian, This letter ballot period completely overlaps with the December holiday period. This will significantly reduce the de facto time that people will have available for review to well below 30 days. Given that this is the first WG ballot of 11ax, I believe more time is needed to give everyone a fair chance at doing a full review. I would like to request to leave the ballot period open till January 6th. This still leaves a full week before the start of the January meeting.
Thanks for your consideration,
Sigurd

IEEE 802.11(TM) Letter Ballot 225
To: IEEE 802.11 Voters,
With this email, the 802.11 Working Group is officially beginning WG Technical Letter Ballot 225 (LB225), which is a Letter Ballot on the question "Should P802.11ax D1.0 be forwarded to Sponsor Ballot?".
This Letter Ballot opens Thu Dec 01, 2016 at 23:59 Eastern Time USA (11:59PM) and will close 30 days later on Sat Dec 31, 2016 at 23:59 Eastern Time USA (11:59pm). All necessary documents are available in the instructions that can be found on the IEEE 802.11 web site at http://www.ieee802.org/11/LetterBallots/LB225ax/LB225_instructions.html.
Important: o This is a 30-day Technical letter ballot and the ballot group (i.e., those that may vote) for this ballot is all IEEE 802.11 voter members as of the start of this letter ballot. o All current voter members of 802.11 are required to vote on this ballot series. o If you cast a "Do not approve" vote on this ballot, it must be accompanied by comments for your vote to be valid. o You must follow these instructions to vote. Do not send an email to vote. Voting by any method other than the web-based process described here will invalidate your vote. o Failure to follow these instructions will result in your vote being discarded as an invalid vote. o Not voting on a letter ballot series or sending an invalid vote can affect your voting privileges. o The draft is password protected in accordance with IEEE 802 Policies and Procedures. To obtain the draft, use the username and the password supplied to active members for the 802.11 WG private area.
(The attached file contains a reminder set for 4 days before the close of the ballot. You may find it helpful to import this into or open this with your calendar client in order to get an automated reminder.)
Thank you for participating in Letter Ballot 225.
