[STDS-802-11] Liaison between 802.11 and 802.15 to the ITU-R on light spectrum

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---

Dear all,

The ITU-R has started a study group to look at light communications (LC). The ITU-R SG1 WP1A is composing a preliminary draft new report ITU-R SM.[VISIBLE-LIGHT] with input from various organizations looking at the use of the light spectrum for broadband communications. The group held a workshop in Eindhoven on 8 March 2017 and a summary can be seen here:
The entire draft report from the ITU-R SG1 WP1A is available here:
The below document provides draft wording to be considered by the 802.18 Working Group as a response to the request for input by the ITU-R SG1 WP1A editor (Rene Vroom) from the 802.11 LC TIG Chair (Nikola Serafimovski):
This wording in this document has been discussed within the LC TIG as well as the 802.15.7m and 802.15.13 TG. The document has also been passed for consideration to the 802.18 WG.

I would like to discuss the proposed wording during the mid-week plenary to get input from the 802.11 WG on the content of the document and hopefully get approval from the WG.

Kind regards,
Nikola
