G’day all
The draft minutes are now available – see
11-20-0878-00.
A reminder for all WG participants – please review clause 8.1 in
Draft 17 of TR 103 665 and provided comments
Andrew
G’day all
Thank you to those people who attended today’s Coex SC teleconference that discussed the LS received from ETSI ERM TG11 regarding ETSI System Reference Document (TR 103 665).
- See the annotated agenda in
11-20-0860-01
- The draft minutes will be published soon
We made very good progress, with consensus that the WG should recommend to ETSI ERM TG11 that:
- Qorvo’s proposal for a new clause 8.1.4 related to challenges for 802.11 in the 2.4 GHz band should not be accepted
- Qorvo’s related proposal to change the 100 mW regulatory limit in the 2.4 GHz band from per system to per transmitter should not be accepted
- No change should be made to the Power Density limit of 10 dBm/MHz in the 2.4 GHz band
These points of consensus are documented in a revised draft response LS to ETSI ERM TG11 – see
11-20-0861-01.
There is still some work to be done before the response LS to ETSI ERM TG11 can be completed. In particular, we need participants to review clause 8.1 in
Draft 17 of TR 103 665. It is important this clause accurately describes
802.11 because any inaccuracies could result in misunderstanding and, ultimately, regulatory decisions adverse to the 802.11 stakeholder interests.
During today’s call, one person volunteered to provide some review. I would like to encourage everyone to at least open the document. Please send me an e-mail either to state you believe clause 8.1
is fine or to highlight one or more issues that need to be fixed. The quantity and importance of comments received will determine if I schedule another teleconference.
Thanks in advance for your input,
Andrew Myles

G’day all
A reminder that that the Coex SC will be meeting on Thursday at 4pm ET to deal with the liaison statement received from ETSI ERM TG11 regarding ETSI System Reference Document (TR 103 665). The call
in details are available here.
Unfortunately, I did not receive any submissions for this teleconference. This forced me to do a bunch of work myself to establish the current situation and probably what needs to happen next. An
agenda, with lots of interesting information, is in 11-20-0860-00.
An early draft of a possible response is in 11-20-0861-00.
It is unlikely we will complete the necessary work tomorrow to agree on a response, and so everyone will have another opportunity to agree or disagree (by submission) with any biases I may have included
the material included in the agenda.
Dorothy, what approval process would you like the Coex SC to use for any response? My current plan is to aim for consensus in the SC but to leave consideration of approval to the WG, possibly at
the virtual July meeting. Is that reasonable?

G’day all
A teleconference of the Coexistence SC will be held on Thursday, 4 June at 4pm ET (6am AEST, 10pm CEST, 9pm BST). The sole item on the agenda will be to deal with the liaison statement received from
ETSI ERM TG11 regarding ETSI System Reference Document (TR 103 665).
If you would like to present to the Coexistence SC on this topic during the teleconference, please send me details of your submission ASAP (topic, document number, and time requested). I will send
out a detailed agenda early next week, which will include the Webex call in details.

G’day all
I will schedule a virtual Coex SC session in about two weeks’ time to consider this inbound LS from
ETSI ERM TG11. I will attempt to find a date and time convenient to everyone interesting in attending, although I will probably bias the session time to daylight hours in Europe given the content.
To assist session scheduling and agenda development, please e-mail me (not reply-all):
- If you would like to attend the
virtual Coex SC session, including an indication of where you live
- If you are willing to explain the LS and its context
- If you have a particular interest in the content
- If you are likely to write a proposal for a reply (or have one ready to go)

A response to this liaison is required. Consideration of this liaison and preparation of a response for WG11 consideration is assigned to the Coexistence Standing Committee,
chaired by Andrew Myles.
