Re: [STDS-802-11] 2021 March WG11 Plenary - Use of DirectVote Live tool for MOTIONS - voting members only

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Greetings,
We are holding the meeting open another 24 hours to try to give the last 193 a chance to vote.
Attendance: 292 of 485 attendees invited are present. 292 of 292 have voted
Thank you to those that have successfully logged in and voted.
If you are one of the 193, Please attempt to login and vote, and if you have trouble let me know, and I will try to help resolve any issues.

As feedback to the DirectVoteLive developers and to give you all a bit of what was needed to complete this test.
In order to use DirectVoteLive:
1. The IEEE Single Sign On is a nice validation method, but there are several subtleties that need to be addressed.
a. Email seems to be case sensitive.
b. if authentication fails, no meaningful message is given, but rather an endless looping page of try again to login.
c. if you fail to login, and get to the DirctVoteLive login page, you have lost.  it is not really going to let you login, as you have to start with the IEEE SSO page.
d. If you timeout on a page, then you have to start over with the link provided.  you cannot use the presented DirectVoteLive login page.
e. IEEE Account Primary Email must match exactly to the email put into DirectVote Live.
2. DirectVoteLive usability.
a. once you have submitted your vote, it is locked.  you cannot review it.  you cannot change it.
b. the indication that your have voted gives the timestamp without a "day". this can be annoying when the motion is open for more than one day.

The tool will seem better when the motions are only open for a short period of time.
While we are in the 802.11 Plenary, you will be able to vote during the open time.
It is important to keep track of the link to the Plenary Meetings....I have not sent them yet.

Regards,
Jon

Greetings,
We opened a Virtual meeting with DirectVoteLive to allow us to work out possible login issues  for each Voter or Potential Voter for the March 2021 Plenary.
Each of the Voters or Potential Voter should have received an invitation/link to the DirectVoteLive meeting.
We would like to close the virtual meeting on March 2.

As of now, only 187 of 479 attendees invited have logged in, and only 182 of 187 have voted.

If you have not tried, please do and vote. This will be an exercise to learn how to vote with the DirectVoteLive.

WARNINGS -
Use the link that was sent to you to be able to use the IEEE SSO to get into the tool at the right place.
Do not forward your mail to colleagues as it will not work for them.
The Email was sent to your myProject email address.   That may or may not be the email you get your listserv emails from.
Your DirectVoteLive and myProject email address (your IEEE Account Primary address) must be the same, or you will not be able to login.

Once logged in, please vote on all 3 motions....
Currently there seems to be 5 people that have had trouble voting...please let me know, and we can try to help you.

There are 292 who have not logged into the system...Would you please?

Note that there are 8 addresses in the mail.canon domain that DirectVoteLive is having an issue with.  We are trying to work that out.

Thanks for your continued support!
Jon

Dear 802.11 members,

IEEE has provided a voting tool, DirectVote Live, for our use. Before using the tool for motions in 802.11 meetings, we need to validate that the email addresses on file for all VOTER and POTENTIAL VOTER members are accurate.
The tool is not appropriate for straw polls, as it does not support non-voter status.

With the use of this tool, no post-processing to validate voters is needed, since the tool is tied to unique individual MyProject logins.

To prepare, current VOTER and POTENTIAL VOTER members will receive an email at their MYPROJECT email address for a test vote. This will enable us to identify any email issues in advance of potentially using the tool at the upcoming March meeting.
If you are a WG11 VOTER or POTENTIAL VOTER and do not receive an email for a test vote at your email on file in myProject, please contact Jon Rosdahl ( jrosdahl@xxxxxxxx ).

Let me know of any questions. Thanks to Jon for agreeing to be the point of contact to resolve the email issues.

Dorothy
