Dear All,
There are ongoing discussions to define an amendment project for “IEEE Std 802 - IEEE Standard for Local and Metropolitan Area Networks: Overview and Architecture” in Nendica.
(For an overview of the related activities please see “Background” below.)
The Nendica is working on an amendment PAR (Project Authorization Request), latest draft PAR text is in: Draft ELLA Report on Amendment of IEEE Std 802 (802.1-21-0080). (ELLA [Evolved Link Layer Architecture] is a Nendica Study Item)
Two contributions have been provided for discussion at the upcoming Nendica meeting March 24@ 09:00 h ET, please see the meeting agenda for more information. These contributions may be of interest to 802.11 members:

Nendica will be meeting to discuss the Draft ELLA Report on Amendment of IEEE Std 802 at its upcoming meetings: March 24, 31, April 7, 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12 … @09:00 h ET, see the 802 calendar for meeting details. Additional Nendica information including background, meeting details, past meeting minutes, contact information, policy and procedures, and contributions are available on the 802.1 Nendica web page. Two previously presented documents that may be of interest are: “VLAN-aware end stations in the IEEE 802 Architecture” 802.1-22-0003 – Marks and “Questions about the IEEE 802 Architecture” - 802.1-21-0074 – Marks.
Note: As stated in the Nendica Industry Connections Activity Initiation Document Nendica meetings are open meetings, anyone can participate (there is no membership requirement), and all attendees have voting/participation rights.
Background:
These Nendica PAR discussions continue the work to maintain and improve IEEE Std 802, prior discussions have occured in Nendica, 802.1, 802.11 ARC SC, 802 Technical Plenary, and the 802 EC.
Previous discussions in these groups agreed a two step (two PAR) process:
The focus of this work is to develop a PAR (Project Authorization Request) to be approved by 802.1, the 802 EC, NesCom (New Standards Committee of the SASB), and the SASB (IEEE Standards Activities Standards Board). The development of a PAR is the first step in the IEEE Standards process.
The PAR drafting/discussions are being conducted in 802.1 Nendica (“Network Enhancements for the Next Decade” Industry Connections Activity), specifically the work is being done under the ELLA (Evolved Link Layer Architecture) Study Item.
Nendica and 802.1 in general use hyperlinked documents and PDFs in their agendas and contributions to aid participants in accessing the information. So opening the agenda document will provide links and allow a user to open/view the content in the agenda. (note: Nendica uses Mentor for file storage, this is not true for all of 802.1.)
