Greetings,
I am looking for feedback on the following CID 1060:
Comment:
The definition of aTxPHYDelay at P866L6 "The nominal time (in microseconds) that the PHY uses to deliver a symbol from the MAC interface to the air interface" is problematic (the MAC interface does not deliver symbols - presumably data octets is meant instead) and not relevant when used in (10-4) at P2134L16 since the critical path is the PHY transmitting the preamble not the Data field.
Proposed change:
Change definition to "The nominal time (in microseconds) that the PHY uses from when a PHY-TXSTART.request primitive is issued until the PHY begins transmission of the requested PPDU at the air interface."
Proposed Resolution:
Accepted
Discussion:
Context:
The definition of aTxPHYDelay at P866L6
"The nominal time (in microseconds) that the PHY uses to deliver a symbol from the MAC interface to the air interface"
Change to updated definition:
"The nominal time (in microseconds) that the PHY uses from when a PHY-TXSTART.request primitive is issued until the PHY begins transmission of the requested PPDU at the air interface."
The question is if the "MAC interface" is the same point of measurement as "PHY-TXSTART.request primitive is issued".
Will this be a good clarification, or does this actually cause a technical change to occur.
The Current plan is to Accept the comment pending feedback from the WG/TG.
Kind Regards,
Jon
